Tech Mahindra will partner Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd to implement the latter’s Project Parivartan, a comprehensive business integration exercise aimed at achieving Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for the defence public sector undertaking.
A premier Navaratna aerospace company under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, “HAL has initiated Project Parivartan to meet the challenges of evolving business scenarios and, to ensure sustaining competitiveness and customer focus,” said R Madhavan, CMD, HAL.
Tech Mahindra has been selected as a system integrator to implement the Project Parivartan over a nine-year period, and to ensure a smooth transition to a centralised ERP that will enable HAL to adopt some global best practices followed by similar industries worldwide.
The key objective of Project Parivartan is to achieve standardisation, rationalisation and integration of business processes and systems across HAL to deliver business value, through consolidation of data and rationalisation of processes to achieve operational excellence.
Under the Rs400 crore project, Tech Mahindra will transform the present distributed application to a centralised application for all 22 divisions of HAL. The transformation will be based on a business transformation engineering process, which includes the implementation of the supplier relationship management and customer relationship management.
“The project will transform HAL’s ERP system, serving the armed forces in an efficient, effective manner,” said Sujit Baksi, President, Corporate Affairs and Business Head, Emerging Markets, Tech Mahindra. “This is in line with our TechMNxt charter that focuses on leveraging new generation technologies with original equipment manufacturers, and deliver an enhanced experience to our customers.”
