Ability beyond limits
The world would have been a lesser – and poorer place – without luminaries such as Stephen Hawking, Ray Charles and Helen Keller. These are individuals who, despite their physical limitations, excelled in their spheres of activity and emerged as a source of inspiration for all of mankind.
On December 3 every year, as part of the 'International Day of Persons with Disabilities’, the world celebrates the immense potential, grit and perseverance of the differently abled amongst us. According to the World Health Organisation, there are roughly 1.3 billion people with “significant” disabilities. This represents 16% of the world’s population or 1 in 6 of us.
At Mahindra Group, all our efforts are focused on fostering an inclusive culture. Many of our companies actively hire persons with disabilities and place them in key functions after sensitizing other employees. This strategy has served us well for many years.
