#RiseToCreateValue

Breath in. Breath out. Repeat.

This year, International Yoga Day wasn’t just a one-day affair at Mahindra Towers, Worli. Setting aside June 19 & 20 to pause, regroup and heal – the wellness celebrations was a much-needed break in our otherwise hectic schedules.

Like each year, this year too M&M celebrated Yoga Day at the office, but with a twist. In partnership with Mysore-headquartered wellness center Anokhi Garden ,the two-day retreat started early each morning with the Ice Bath session.

Yes, you heard that right!

Buckets of water filled to the brim with ice were set up in an already rain-soaked outdoor gallery. Participants began the session with an intense warm up and then gingerly walked to the bucket before dunking themselves neck-deep in the chilling mix of ice and cold water. With a yoga practitioner in toe, the participants regulated their breathing while staying immersed in the ice bath. With potential benefits such as muscle recovery, improved blood circulation and mood uplifting – the ice bath session was an instant hit, with organisers having to refuse ‘anymore participation’.

This was followed with Hatha Yoga sessions for all – beginners, intermediaries and experts. Led by experienced instructors the sessions blended traditional yoga techniques with a holistic bend of movement, breath and mindfulness. Conducted at the Banyan Tree in Mahindra Towers saw house full sessions, with many participants joining in via Teams. The Yin Yoga or the Sound Bath Restorative session was a therapeutic one with the instructor leading you into a meditative state through music, sound and chants. Again, a packed house session, the Sound Bath session had participants wake up in a state of bliss – rested, calm and smiling – exactly how we want our colleagues to feel!

The Anokhi Garden café too was open on both days serving up some scrumptious healthy treats. All-in-all this Yoga Day at Mahindra Towers was more than a grand success – it was a pause in time to realign, restore and restart.
