Meet Mahindra Armado, India’s first ALSV
Anand Mohan, from EVO India, recently tested the Mahindra Armado, India's first indigenous Armoured Light Specialist Vehicle (ALSV). With a bulletproof cabin, advanced communication systems, and a 3.2-litre Steyr engine that is manufactured by Mahindra Auto in Chakan, the Armado embodies the spirit of national pride and resilience, symbolising India's ascent as a global leader in defence manufacturing.
A bunch of Armados are already in service, including those with the United Nations’ peacekeeping missions. The Armado can take on any terrain with ease and is packed to the gills with tech, such as the inertial navigation system and extensive tyre inflation system that you wouldn't find in any civilian car. But there’s a lot more to this than what meets the eye.
This is the first time a publication had a chance to road-test the Armado. Watch the exclusive video of the Armado in action.
