Bringing Young Minds Together

At Mahindra, we encourage Mind Games. This flagship programme by Mahindra Partners for talent development and idea generation is a platform where young and dynamic minds from the Mahindra Partners portfolio companies take up business cases of other portfolio companies and recommend solutions.

Employees get an opportunity to work on different business operations across the sector and solve the live business challenges of different portfolio companies. Mind Games also gives them a sneak peek into the workings of other businesses and a chance to showcase their talent to senior leadership.

More Mind, More Game

Mind Games is a three-month long annual competition. Each team is made of two to three members belonging to different locations, functions and grades.  In Round 1, teams play an online business simulation and make strategic and operational decisions. In Round 2, top teams have to choose a live business case of another and devise innovative and viable solutions for the same.

Mind Games was started in 2014 and the last 6 seasons have seen enthusiastic participation. Over the years, Mind Games has grown from an idea to be an integral part of Mahindra Partners’ talent development ecosystem.

They receive expert guidance and mentoring from buddies belonging to the respective portfolio company as well external consultants. But that doesn’t make their task easy. In fact, their ideas are further scrutinised when they showcase their solutions to senior leaders.

At the end of Round 2, only six-seven teams remain in the race. In Round 3, the Grand Finale, the teams are now directly mentored by CEOs and other senior leaders of the respective portfolio companies. Their ideas are further refined for the final showdown and the winning team gets all the glory!

The Seventh Season

The 7th season of Mind Games was launched in October 2020. However, this year, the competition went digital. For the first time, teams from Group companies and investee companies participated in the Mind Games.

Round 1 saw participation from as many as 77 teams from across locations and grades. Teams from Mahindra Insurance Brokers, Mahindra Rural Housing Finance, Mahindra Logistics, Mahindra First Choice Wheels, Centre For Sight, Aquasail & Medwell Ventures are also a part of this exciting learning journey. Season 7 concludes soon and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see what our young strategy gurus recommend for the coming year.
