Some tips on how to deal with workplace stress.

  • Identify your stressors. Write down what stresses you and how you respond to them.
  • Practice relaxation techniques. Meditation, mindfulness and grounding techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, can help calm the body and mind.
  • Set aside time for yourself. Make time to do things that you enjoy, such as spending quality time with friends and family and exploring new or existing hobbies.
  • Maintain a regular exercise routine. Find a type of exercise that you enjoy, such as a brisk walking, a hike, or a swim.
  • Improve your sleeping habits. Sleep deficiency can cause impaired daily functioning, productivity, focus and judgment.
  • Take micro-breaks during the workday. Set your phone alarm to ring once every two hours as a reminder to step away from the desk, stretch, walk around, and to stay hydrated.
