Mahindra Scorpio-N sets a Guinness World Record

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., the renowned SUV maker, celebrated a momentous achievement as its flagship model, the Scorpio-N, secured a prestigious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the "Fastest crossing of the Simpson Desert by a production vehicle." This remarkable feat comes on the heels of the SUV's recent launch in Australia, where it showcased its exceptional capabilities and reliability.

The momentous feat

Driving the Scorpio-N through the challenging terrain of the Simpson Desert, a team of two skilled drivers, Gene Corbett (Total Driver) and Ben Robinson (4WD Industries), along with a support crew of photographers and videographers, conquered 1,100 sand dunes and braved peak outside temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius, completing the journey within an impressive 13 hours. Guinness World Records officials verified the record-breaking expedition.

A challenging terrain

The Simpson Desert, known for its captivating beauty and ever-changing landscapes, has long been a dream destination for motoring enthusiasts. The Scorpio-N's accomplishments add to its allure as a thrilling destination for adventure seekers. Embarking on a 385 km journey, the Scorpio-N triumphed over salt flats situated 20 metres above sea level, presenting a significant challenge due to its high moisture content.

This historic triumph stands as a testament to the Scorpio-N's remarkable off-road performance, complemented by the exceptional skills and determination of its drivers. With its outstanding engineering and design, the Scorpio-N has set new benchmarks in the world of off-road driving, solidifying its position as an exceptional SUV. Mahindra & Mahindra takes immense pride in this accomplishment and looks forward to more ground-breaking feats in the future.
