Mahindra Treo electric auto conquers Khardung La Pass in Leh

An auto is just a last-mile mobility tool is a myth that has been dispelled by Mahindra Electric’s intrepid customer, Jothi Viknesh. Jothi is from Bengaluru and owns a Mahindra Treo auto. He is on a mission to travel almost 50,000 km across the length and breadth of our breathtakingly beautiful country.

He intends to complete this mission in 400 days and so far has done 15,800 km, covering 19 states, and requires hardly 3,200 km more to set a Guinness record – that of travelling the longest distance in an e-auto. The supreme cost of ownership and possibly the lowest cost of travelling to various places in one's own vehicle, Jothi says, is what attracted him to this idea.

Jothi has become the first person to take an electric auto to one of India’s highest motorable passes Khardung La in the Leh district. Throughout his journey, he was well supported by Mahindra's extensive service network and never encountered any issues with his dependable Treo electric vehicle. Charging his Treo auto was not a big issue for him as it was as easy as providing juice to a cellphone. He was equally happy with the performance of the vehicle, wherein inclines or rough roads were taken with aplomb.

The Treo is India's number one selling electric auto and travels 130 km on a single charge. Jothi has demonstrated that the Treo truly walks the walk when it comes to durability and dependability. We wish Jothi Viknesh all the very best for his travels in his equally adventurous blue and white, zero-pollution vehicle.
