Siemens, the German technology company, is one of the many clients that Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) works closely with. One of its most recent engagements was also a challenging one — Siemens planned to shift all material from its existing warehouse to a new space in Sape village in Bhiwandi Taluka, Thane district, Maharashtra.
This exercise had to be planned well and executed carefully. Six vehicles — four 32-feet-long and two 20-feet-long trucks — would be needed to shift the material. The shift had to be made without disturbing the regular dispatch, which was active at both locations. Moreover, the material had to be shifted without being packed. Despite all these factors, MLL’s Network team was up for the challenge.
And even though the activity had to be completed within 60 days, the team wrapped it up in just 45! This was possible because of their professionalism and dedication, which reflected in the countless hours they spent to ensure the deployment of vehicles in the shortest time span. Despite the activity being conducted during the monsoon season, MLL’s Network team ensured that the schedule was maintained and all material was delivered safely.
“We highly appreciate the commitment showcased by the MLL team during the Bhiwandi warehouse shifting, which was an enormous project in itself! This was achieved in the desired time frame and at optimum cost. The entire MLL Bhiwandi team supported us wholeheartedly, and this was an excellent example of collaboration,” said Subodh Sharma, Vice President – Logistics, Siemens.
MLL’s Network team truly lived up to the company’s purpose — ‘Accelerating Commerce and Empowering Communities to RISE’.
