I’m In.

“What got me hooked was the family atmosphere and vibe I got from everyone at Club Mahindra”

It’s been two years since Mclee Anthony Vaz became a part of the Club Mahindra team. A resident of Colva, Goa, the 29-year-old has a foot deformity, which is called ‘equinus talipes’ in medical terms. Vaz was born with this deformity after his mother fell down a flight of stairs when she was five months pregnant. After a month’s struggle by his mother, Vaz was born in the sixth month of her pregnancy. Thankfully, both were fine and healthy, and only his right physical side was affected.

A simple guy who likes to hang out with his friends and a die-hard supporter of Chelsea Football Club, Vaz has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications with an aggregate score of 80 per cent. He also loves to sing in the church choir, whenever given the opportunity.

“The biggest challenges I face in my daily life are the physical aspects where in, due to my condition, I can do a limited amount of work. I found travelling difficult as I had to rely on people to help take me around. Walking for a long period also was exhausting with my condition,” he reminisces.

“As I grew up, I did not know even to ride a bike, which made me feel like a burden on everyone. Finally, I took the initiative to learn and be self-reliant. It took me a long time to learn, but that has made my life a lot easier.”

Vaz joined Club Mahindra Varca Beach as a Service Associate in the Human Resource Department through a reference in September 2018. He says, “On my first day, I was nervous and excited. I received a warm welcome from everyone and had a lovely day which included the induction process. What got me hooked was the family atmosphere and the vibe I got from everyone at Mahindra.”

He adds, “Since October 2020, I have been a member of the Club Mahindra Acacia Palms family and will try to give my very best going forward. My main objective is to learn as much as possible so that I can grow and have a successful career. I just want to say thank you to the management of Club Mahindra for giving me the opportunity to share my life story with each and every one of you.”
