Strategic Sourcing Unit (SSU), Kandivali observed the 55th National Safety Week from March 4 to 10 2026, aligned with the national theme: ‘Engage, Educate & Empower people to enhance safety’.
The theme strongly resonates with Mahindra’s commitment to safeguarding people, enabling operational resilience, and fostering a culture where safety is integrated into every aspect of work.
The week commenced with a series of structured learning initiatives aimed at enhancing awareness of workplace safety practices, risk mitigation, and emergency preparedness. These activities were curated to ensure meaningful employee participation while strengthening safety ownership across teams.
A keynote address was delivered through the MSETU portal by Mr. Veeraraghavan R, Head – SSU FES & Common Commodities, and Mr. Ashish Jangale, Head – SSU Auto & EEPS. They emphasised Mahindra’s focus on cultivating a safe work environment and highlighted that a robust safety culture is fundamental to business continuity and resilience.
Key Initiatives Conducted During the Week
- Digital Safety Awareness Games
A structured online Quiz to reinforce knowledge of critical safety procedures and safe work practices. - Interactive Module on Safety Terminology
An engaging learning activity designed to familiarise employees with essential safety vocabulary and concepts. - Fire Safety Micro-Learning Series
Short, focused informational capsules that helped employees strengthen foundational understanding of fire-safety principles. - Safety Leadership Dialogue: “From Shopfloor to Boardroom”
An insightful session highlighting the role of leadership, teams, and individuals in driving a strong safety culture across all levels of the organisation. - Technical Workshop on Machine Guarding & Interlocks
A full-day Supplier workshop dedicated to strengthening competency in machine guarding and interlock safety.

The session saw active participation from 45 attendees representing 24 supplier organisations, underscoring the emphasis on supply-chain-wide safety compliance.
The week concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in the presence of Mr. Veeraraghavan R, who reiterated the importance of embedding safety into daily habits and decision-making. He emphasised that safety is not an event-led priority but a continuous commitment essential to building a resilient and future-ready supply chain.
The SSU team participated with enthusiasm throughout the week, reaffirming their dedication to making safety a year-round focus and contributing to Mahindra’s culture of care, responsibility, and excellence.
