M&M successfully concludes safety and fire expo

M&M Ltd successfully completed the 2nd edition of SAFE - Supplier Safety and Fire Expo 2024, at Mahindra Towers, Chakan, Pune, on December 10, 2024. This event is a groundbreaking initiative as it is the first-of-its-kind organised by an automotive OEM in the industry.

The expo saw an overwhelming response, with over 200 participants from 90 different suppliers attending the event. The expo provided a unique platform to suppliers to explore and discuss the latest innovations in fire safety and safety management. It has provided a platform to suppliers to connect with equipment supplier and service providers at the same time.

The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Mr. Rahul Chemburkar (Senior GM SSU Trims, Plastics, and Accessories), Mr Arun Joshi (Member Secretary, Central Safety Council), Supplier Partners & Senior Exhibitors. Mr Rahul then set the context by discussing the importance of fire & safety management. He emphasised the significance of implementing effective fire safety measures in the industry and highlighted the potential repercussions of inadequate safety practices on business continuity. Mr Arun briefed on importance and method to sustain by explaining major risks of any business and initiatives to excel in safety.

Eleven leading fire and safety equipment and service providers showcased a diverse range of essential products and services, including fire hydrants, advanced gas suppression systems, fire detection systems, firefighting PPEs, and innovative safety management software systems.

In addition, we are proud to announce the unveiling of the Suppliers Safety Audit Manual 2.0 and the Machine Guarding Standard for Suppliers during this event. These updated manuals are designed to provide our suppliers with comprehensive guidelines to ensure enhanced safety protocols, safe method of machine guarding, and industry-leading fire safety standards across their operations.

SSU core risk team has shared the Safety Risk Audit Journey. Further, as part of learning through sharing four strategic suppliers shared their journey on fire and safety improvements and advantages of it. The participants showed great appetite for the event and got motivated enough to ensure compliance in their respective locations.
