Adding the ‘social’ to sustainability efforts

As part of M&M’s ongoing efforts to create a more equitable workplace, MIQ organised a programme that touched upon various dimensions of social sustainability

Social is one of the important pillars of Sustainability.

It mainly enables businesses to develop and maintain strong relationship with its stakeholders. Global investors give more stress on the due diligence of Social Sustainability during partnerships and mergers.

In this context, to enhance the actions on various parameters of social aspects, Mahindra Institute of Quality (MIQ) organised a program 'Social Dimensions of Sustainability ' at the Mahindra Nashik campus on January 21-22, 2025.

The programme was curated around major salient topics of Social Sustainability such as: Human Rights, Diversity, Inclusion, Collective Bargaining, Corporate Social Responsibility, SA8000 – the international standard for social accountability management systems, Women Empowerment and Impact Measurement.

Experts from Social Sustainability Climate Advisors shared their insights during the programme. They enlightened the participants with basic concepts, case studies, standards requirements, brainstorming sessions and group exercises. 22 participants from across Mahindra Group companies – Auto, Farm, Swaraj, Finance, Defence, Holidays, Accelo, Last Mile Mobility and M&M suppliers actively participated in the program and rated it at 4.40 on a scale of 1-5.

The programme was designed and facilitated by Mr Anand Marathe, Lead Sustainability at MIQ.
