The six-month long programme aims to further Mahindra Group’s commitment to fostering equitable and inclusive workplaces.
In a transformative journey spanning six months, Mahindra proudly launched the #SheIsOnTheRise Women Leadership Programme in October 2024, culminating this April. This initiative brought together 93 talented women from M and O level across the business, representing diverse roles and experiences, to embark on a path of self-discovery, growth, and empowerment. Designed to nurture leadership potential, the program aimed to equip participants with the skills, confidence, and mindset to thrive in their professional journeys.
“The programme is a testament to Mahindra’s commitment to empowering women leaders. It’s not just about professional growth, it’s about self-discovery, resilience, and embracing one’s unique leadership voice. Witnessing 93 incredible women transform their journeys into impactful stories of leadership has been truly inspiring. This initiative is a step forward toward fostering diversity and inclusion across our organisation,” said Sakshi Handa, Sr VP Corporate HR and Group Talent.
The first module focused on ‘Self-awareness’, challenging participants to confront self-limiting beliefs and expand their boundaries. Through psychodrama exercises, role-playing, and reflective activities, participants explored their unique career experiences, identified their strengths, and set actionable goals to unlock their full potential.
The second module emphasised ‘Interpersonal Management’, with a focus on effective communication, emotional intelligence, and assertiveness. Participants learned to navigate challenges such as stress, guilt, and conflict, while mastering strategies to assert themselves and influence stakeholders. Experiential learning through simulations and role plays deepened their understanding of collaboration and leadership.
The third module centred on ‘Executive Presence, Body Confidence, and Storytelling Skills’. Using theatre and performance techniques, participants honed their ability to project authenticity, passion, and poise. They also explored the art of storytelling, crafting compelling narratives from their personal and professional lives to inspire and influence others. This module empowered participants to own their unique leadership style and amplify their impact within the organization.
The final module explored ‘Personal Branding, Networking, and Work-Life Integration’. Participants conducted personal brand audits, developed networking action plans, and explored strategies for balancing professional and personal commitments. Sessions on self-care, prioritisation, and delegation equipped them with tools to manage stress and guard their time effectively. Discussions on imposter syndrome and inner criticism encouraged participants to embrace their strengths and overcome self-doubt.
A key highlight of the program was the graduation ceremony, featuring the theatre performance and addresses by senior leaders. We celebrated the unique career trajectories of women, addressing themes such as gender bias, confidence barriers, proactive career planning, and work-life harmony. It inspired participants to reflect on their journeys and embrace their leadership potential.
This program exemplifies Mahindra’s commitment to fostering equitable and inclusive workplaces. By empowering women leaders to rise, inspire, and lead, the initiative has set a powerful precedent for driving diversity, equity, and belonging across the businesses.
