Mahindra XUV400: Record-breaking single-charge desert journey

The electrifying start

The journey started from Bajana in Gujarat at 6.19 am, spanning 337 km through Zinzuwada, the Little Rann of Kutch, Adesar, Momaimora, Mouvana, Bela, Dholavira, and the Road to Heaven before reaching Dhordo, the beginning of the White Rann, at 6.34 pm. The all-electric SUV tackled diverse terrain in excruciating heat: 25% off-road, 50% narrow country roads, and the remaining 25% on highways. The XUV400 achieved an average speed of 35.9 kmph while covering the entire terrain, as verified by the India Book of Records.

Going fun and fearless

The Rann of Kutch has always been the ultimate test for any vehicle seeking to demonstrate its capabilities, with its treacherous terrain, scorching heat, vast distance, and various other demanding conditions.

The challenging journey across the Rann put the durability and performance of the Mahindra XUV400 to the test. The loose soil, sand, and slush resulting from unseasonal rains posed significant challenges during the journey, leading to wheel slippage and reduced traction.

In addition to that, the XUV400 EV triumphantly conquered the scorching heat and arid weather conditions, enduring temperatures nearing 50 degrees Celsius.
