To collaborate on C-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft

The partnership will introduce advanced aerospace and military transport technology to India

Brazil-bases Embraer Defense & Security and Mahindra announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim is to jointly facilitate the acquisition of the C-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft by the Indian Air Force as part of its upcoming Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) procurement project. This momentous occasion took place at the Embassy of Brazil in New Delhi.

Embraer and Mahindra are set to engage with the Indian Air Force to delineate the subsequent steps of the MTA programme and initiate dialogue with the indigenous aerospace industry in India to formulate the industrialisation plan for the project.

The MoU was inked by Embraer Defense and Security and Mahindra Defence Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mahindra focusing on armoured transport and security-related products, including electronics.

Embraer has already established a notable presence in India across defence, commercial aviation, and executive aviation. Their engagement with the local aerospace industry was highlighted during the C-390 Millennium Day held in New Delhi in August 2023, which saw enthusiastic participation from the Indian ecosystem.

The collaboration surrounding the C-390 Millennium aims to introduce cutting-edge technology in aerospace and military transport aircraft to India. Embraer and Mahindra are committed to exploring the potential of making India a future hub for the C-390 aircraft in the region.
