Anand Mahindra keeps his promise, gifts bespoke XUV 700 to para-athlete Avani Lekhara

In August 2021, Avani Lekhara created history when she became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020. So inspiring was the young shooter’s performance that Anand Mahindra announced that the first customised Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) for specially-abled people would be dedicated to Avani.

Within five months of making this promise, Mr Mahindra recently gifted Avani a custom-made XUV 700, which has a special hydraulic seat and gold inserts, among other customised features.
