Anand G Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, was conferred the Padma Bhushan Award 2020 for his contribution to Trade and Industry. Mr Mahindra was honoured with the country's third-highest civilian award by President Ram Nath Kovind at an event held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 8, 2021. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar were among the attendees.

Everyone at Mahindra draws inspiration from his ideologies, principles and leadership and salutes this recognition with great pride.

The Padma Awards seek to recognise achievements in all fields of activities or disciplines where an element of public service is involved. The President presented 119 Padma Awards this year — seven Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri Awards. Twenty-nine awardees are women, there are 16 Posthumous awardees and one transgender awardee.
