Ashwin Singh, Site Manager – IT, Mahindra Finance, has converted his passion for kickboxing into teaching children self-defence techniques and lessons on physical and mental wellbeing. He has devoted 160 person-hours of service towards volunteering to work with the young ones. Volunteering isn’t new to Ashwin — he has been part of numerous Employee Social Options (ESOPs) initiatives in the past, such as cleanliness drives in Worli BDD Chawl, Mumbai. And the biggest perk of being a volunteer? Ashwin says it is the happiness, smiles and blessings he has received. He has even roped in his wife, Ranjana Singh, and daughter, Kimishka Singh, in this cause. During this International Women’s Day, the three of them conducted a session for a group of Nanhi Kali beneficiaries, which was widely appreciated by the young girls.
Ashwin has also been actively recording these efforts on the Spirit of Service portal. He has not only received an e-certificate of appreciation from Anand Mahindra, but he is also in the race to be the Top 75 volunteers, who will be recognised as part of the Group’s 75th- year celebrations.
Note: The Mahindra Group has pledged to give back 750,000 hours of service to the community in the 75th year. All employees clocking in 7.5 hours of service through MySeva between October 2, 2020 to October 1, 2021, would receive an e-certificate from Anand Mahindra. The Top 75 volunteers clocking in maximum hours during the 75th year would be recognised separately with special memorabilia. Employees can record their Acts of Kindness by registering on the Spirit of Service portal - https://spiritofservice.mahindra.com/
