On February 18, 2020, the Pininfarina family and top management kicked off the start of celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the renowned Italian design house at the at the Triennale Milano, a design museum in that city. The celebrations were attended by top Pininfarina clients, and executives from the world of design and architecture.
Synonymous with beauty and elegance, Pininfarina was founded as a small artisan bodyworks brand, by Battista Farina on May 22, 1930. Over the years, Pininfarina has been recognized as a symbol of ‘Made in Italy’ all over the world. At the celebrations, two important announcements were made by the brand – Kevin Rice, a world-renowned automotive designer, will join Pininfarina as Chief Creative Officer, from March 1, 2020. The brand also announced its new architectural collaboration with Spanish Developer EXCEM Real Estate.
Paolo Pininfarina, Chairman, Pininfarina, said, “We couldn’t have hoped for a better gift for our 90th birthday. For years we have gradually pushed our creativity forward from cars to the world of industrial design and building architecture, and the market has understood this. We have learned that once a design language has been defined, a world of opportunities opens up. We started out from new luxury residential concepts and now we aim to leverage our vast experience in high-end residential complexes by designing a breath taking piece of architecture for EXCEM.”
